Description
Q (Question): I have a four-year-old male German short-haired pointer who has blood in his urine. I first noticed the problem while we were out hunting, so I took, him to my vet, who thought my dog had a urinary tract infection. The vet at our clinic placed the dog on Simplicef 200mg for 14 days and lOOmg of doxycycline for 14 days. He appears normal, has no elevated temp (99.7) and is eating and drinking normally. However, I did notice after his morning bathroom break that he still had blood in his urine and was licking his genital area more than he normally does. He also seemed a little more run down this morning. But when he urinates, he does not show any outward signs of pain. Do you have any thoughts on this you could share?--MC
